On June 1, Mark J. Gilbert, CPA/PFS and principal of Reason Financial Advisors, Inc., was awarded both a Time and Talent Public Service Volunteerism Award and a Distinguished Media Service Award by the Illinois CPA Society at its annual Leadership Recognition Dinner for volunteer efforts on behalf of the Society during the past year.
Gilbert was one of five Society members presented with the Time and Talent award. The award is given to honorees “who have done outstanding work with one or more of our public service volunteer initiatives,” according to Jill Wiles Wolf, Illinois CPA Society Public Service Manager. Gilbert was specifically recognized for preparing and delivering two presentations during the 2010 Federal Reserve Money $mart Week, which the Society co-sponsored. He was also one of four members who received a Distinguished Media Service Award for his willingness to speak with the media on financial topics affecting the consumer public, including new rules affecting credit cards and mortgage modification programs. Over the course of the year, Gilbert appeared with media members on WBBM-TV Channel 2, and WGN-TV Channel 9, and was interviewed for the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, and WDCB 90.9 FM, among others.
Gilbert and Reason Financial Advisors, Inc. provide comprehensive financial planning services, including discretionary portfolio management, to middle market and high net worth clients in Cook and DuPage Counties.
