Northbrook Advisor Presents at NAPFA Midwest Region Conference
The National Association of Fee Only Financial Advisors (NAPFA) held their annual Midwest Region Conference at the Lincolnshire Marriott October 20-22. Patrick Doland, president of Reason Financial Advisors, Inc. in Northbrook presented a program directed toward new planners entitled: Profitability and Fee Structure: What’s Your Fee Structure.”
“A new financial planner has a wide variety of business models from which to choose.” said Doland, “and many planners in smaller firms do not have the opportunity of a formal training program.” As Regional Study Group Coordinator, Doland provides direction and planning assistance with setting up and maintaining local study groups within twelve Midwestern states.
NAPFA was founded in 1983 and is the largest professional organization representing comprehensive fee-only financial advisors. NAFPA members are prohibited from receiving compensation other than client fees and are, therefore, not compensated by the sale of products they recommend.
Doland, a Northbrook resident, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Upper Iowa University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ Practitioner and a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor. He is also a Chartered Wealth Manger. Doland provides fee only services in areas including investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, income tax planning and education planning.
