Mark Gilbert Authors Column for CPA Magazine
Northern Illinois CPA Financial Adviser Advises Fellow CPAs On Helping Clients with Personal Financial Planning Issues Mark J. Gilbert, CPA/PFS and principal of Reason Financial Advisors, Inc. authored a column in the Winter, 2013-14 issue of INSIGHT, the magazine of the Illinois CPA Society, entitled “How to Cover Your Bases,” on the topic of professional liability insurance.
Professional service providers like CPA tax advisers and financial planners frequently purchase professional liability insurance (sometimes referred to as “errors and omissions” insurance) to protect themselves from negligence claims made by clients based on recommendations and other advice made by the advisor. Gilbert looked at some current pricing and coverage trends in this market, including rising premiums, lower coverage amounts, and cyber security coverage. A link to the column is found here.
The column has been written by Gilbert since 2010. During 2013, each column’s content was consistent with that issue’s overall theme. For example, a theme on “Market Leaders” saw a column on outstanding personal financial planning industry vendors, while another theme on “Corporate Financial Leadership” featured a column on the growing use of target date mutual funds in 401(k) and other corporate retirement plans.
Gilbert and Reason Financial Advisors, Inc. provide comprehensive financial planning services, including discretionary portfolio management, to middle market and high net worth clients from offices in Naperville and Northbrook.
