North Shore Financial Planner Featured on CBS 2

What should you do with your income tax refund? When CBS Channel 2 wanted advice for their viewers on a segment they planned to air on their 10 pm news on April 15, they went to Patrick Doland, a Northbrook based Certified Financial Planner practitioner.

Some of the recommendations that Doland provided for the broadcast included:

  • Pay off credit cards and other consumer debt at high interest rates.
  • Create an emergency fund sufficient to cover at least 3 months of expenses.
  • Fund your IRA for the following year.
  • Increase your 401k contributions and use the refund to make up for the monthly shortfall.

Doland is president of Reason Financial Advisors, Inc., an independent, fee only financial planning and investment advisory firm located in Northbrook that specializes in working with individuals and families in the Chicago metropolitan area on their financial planning and investment management needs.

A Northbrook resident, Doland received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Upper Iowa University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
